Need a reliable off-grid solar power kit to run an IP camera (and optional LTE router) where there’s no mains power? The Foscam Off-Grid Solar Security Hub is built for remote CCTV deployments and provides stable power plus simple connectivity handoff options.
This pole-mounted solar kit delivers a regulated 12V output for sensitive equipment, as well as a 24V passive PoE outlet for compatible devices. It’s designed to handle real-world field conditions in South Africa and helps protect your equipment from voltage variances.
With an onboard LiFePO4 lithium battery charged by an 80W solar panel, the system is designed to run continuously without needing generator power or mains recharging (site conditions permitting). It operates silently, with no fuel storage required — ideal for residential areas and long-term remote deployments.
Tested runtime: 1 camera + either LTE router or CPE bridge: > 24 hours (dark run).

NOTE: POLE is not included. Dimensions are guidelines only. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure correct pole specification and erection procedure.
Solar panel mount set includes: 1 upper bracket, 1 lower bracket, 2 x U-bolts (straps), 2 x M6 hex-head bolts, 4 x washers, 2 x M6 nyloc nuts, 2 x M6 hex-head bolts (panel), 4 x flat washers (panel), 2 x nyloc nuts (panel).
The cabinet features two LED indicators on the underside for quick status checks: green indicates PV generation (solar charging active) and orange indicates the system is powered and the battery is operational.
Installation
For best performance, choose a site with unshaded sun exposure throughout daylight hours.

Connectivity
A 4G GSM LTE modem or point-to-point bridge can be powered via the 12V output or the 24V passive PoE handoff (not supplied, but can be ordered).

Well engineered
Nice piece of kit, well-engineered and light enough to self-mount. Not using a Foscam camera, my next purchase will kit the whole kit including the SD2X.
