Suggested installation height: 39-59 inches. The best height with a good view is 4.9ft( 59in/1.5m ). If your old doorbell installation height is lower than 4.9 ft, with the included wedge kit, you can DIY your ideal angle to get a great view of visitors coming to your door.

Q2: Does the video doorbell require existing doorbell wiring?

Yes, the video doorbell draws power from existing doorbell wiring. The voltage of the transformer requirement is 8-24VAC and the output power of the transformer is 8VA or above, which is very common in most house doorbell wiring.

Q3: Is the video doorbell powered by battery?

No, the wired video doorbell has more advanced features, like the 3s pre-buffer and no wake-up time. Also, the doorbell dimensions can be very slim, fitting into narrow door frames.

Q4: Is the video doorbell compatible with the existing doorbell chime?

Yes, we are well compatible with existing mechanical chime or digital chime. When you connect digital chime, please remember to connect our power kit.

Good solid Video Doorbell

This is my fourth Foscam product. I use this at our holiday home in the WC. Delivery was fast as always. When setting up and installing the camera Foscam support was outstanding. Was amazed that you can power the device from either AC8~24V or DC5~30V without even having to worry about the polarity. I powered it from the 12V gate motor battery already used by my sliding gate. Love the wide angle view and 2K video quality, sound is good as well. I inserted a 128G SD card to record to so I don’t need a cloud subscription for recordings. Very happy to recommend this product.
